This is the mother of all hikes from the house. Depending on the route, it can be from 18 to 20 miles.
There are several routes. The shortest starts with the Route du Caire. A longer but easier alternative is the eastern part of Pie Martin, then over to le Caire.
Be sure to visit the Epicerie du Cheiron in Coursegoules for a cup of coffee and some snacks.
The round trip takes at least six (6) hours, and has an elevation gain of over 4,000 feet.
